You are what you eat, how many times have you heard that? Do you believe this quote, how much does it mean to you? Is there a little nag in your head that say’s ” yeah I get that, but don’t quite know where to go with it”? Or do you think you will get into it when you have a little more time?
Most of us do believe that ‘you are what you eat’, it sounds like sense. So we seek to find a better way to eat in order to live a better life, that is what life school is basically about don’t you think?
It takes many years of trial and error to find that perfect balance, it is not easy, and we usually get overwhelmed with contradictory information that leaves us in turmoil, a bit like the fist years in school, not surprising then that we are pretty near senior grade by the time we have it right.
There is a saying or quote, I can’t remember it exactly, but it is something like ;
‘We spend the first 40 years learning how to do things, and the second 40 years trying to put those things right’! Soooo apt!
If you remember that quote please do give me a nudge – I need to put it right … Ha ha!
The majority of us live in this mad, hectic, fast world and don’t have the time to become nutrition experts, why would we need to be nutrition experts anyway? We usually don’t learn about these things until our health or that of a loved one is threatened, other wise we put it off as we are young and don’t ever imagine getting sick.
Remember your folks telling you you should take more care or think about this, but youngsters don’t need to hear that right? Hmmm
Well, that saying ‘you are what you eat’, is correct, but as always there is far more to it than that – deep sigh! Never easy is it?
But, hey it is worth learning, we were not meant to live in a fast, hectic world where we have no time to learn about and care for ourselves, when we get this right, life becomes so much easier because we find balance and harmony…. ahhhhhh yes!
But what is that better life? How is what you eat going to improve your life, it means better health yes, but is that it – what else?
You Are What You Eat – Universal Laws Apply
You are what you eat, and while this little saying makes some sense to us, it is a little short sighted. While we trundle along trying different ways of eating, we don’t actually realise what our path is about until we are almost there, then we understand.
Universal Principals ;
Learning to find how our body works best, and which foods our body needs and thrives on, living in harmony with our world, being aware of our surroundings and our connection to everything, feeling peace and love on a deep level and for all creation.
Do you think I have gone off topic here? Nope, I haven’t, this is the point – the lessons from life school. When we get our diet in balance, these are the things we realise, then we get it! The holistic thing – it is not just about our diet, it is about being whole and complete, universal law!
We are living beings, we need living food, our living food needs to be the best it can be, it needs to be fed living fuel not chemicals, the same as we do. When we eat living food that we are in harmony with, it is like someone turned on the light, the connection is there – we get it! Our cells are now fully alive and we understand all things, life becomes easy – no, really I haven’t lost the plot – honest!
Living in harmony with all things is what we are about, and when our diet is right, we are right, everything is right – so yes , you are what you eat.
Does it not make sense – when we eat dead processed junk then that is what we become? We are confused, absent, toxic and sick, we don’t even realise we are sick, how can we possibly live life well, become the person we want to be and live our dreams while in this ‘zombie‘ frame of body and mind? Yep – you are what you eat!
Have you heard that disease starts in the colon? Well actually it is the whole digestive system, and it starts in the mouth, saliva and throat. We cannot be healthy on any level if our digestive system is compromised. Our digestive system is connected to our brain – now that is a ‘diet’ alert if ever there was one! You are what you eat and your brain is what you eat.
Believe me, I have studied and tried all sorts in my seek for that thing that was missing, I have also fallen off many times, dropped out of life school, and almost given up with that overwhelm. There have been many times that I have believed that I found what works for me, or almost, somehow there was always a missing link, the balance – just not right.
I like to think of my diet choices of being the foundation for everything else in my life, if your digestive system is out of balance or your diet is not healthy, then nothing else will work as it should. Living foods give us energy, if we don’t have enough energy, we simply cannot heal or move forward.
You are what you eat – Holistic, healthy lifestyle, in harmony with nature and the universe, an accumulative process!
If I could only teach just one thing, it would be this – I would not tell you what to eat, but to learn to listen to and trust your intuition, it will guide you if you allow it, it will be right for you wherever you are on your path if you are willing to listen, we are not ready to be perfect (yet)… only to be open to opportunity and learning! Your intuition knows your next step and each step is just perfect for you.
You know when you have it right, it is just so awesome, so much bigger than just ‘diet’, an opportunity to grow and excel and stop the fight!
