The wonderful root vegetable the radish, originates back to Asia, Japan & China but grows wild all over Europe and the Mediterranean, and more recently the US, do you think Mother Earth is trying to tell us something? Being as most of us suffer with poor digestion due to our modern diet, maybe we should listen to our dear Mother Earth?

The red, also known as the melon radish, is extremely high in Sulphur and Silicon, high Vitamin C, which plays a major role in connective tissue – beautifying!

This amazing root vegetable contains a compound called Raphanin, which can help with auto-immune diseases, and balances thyroid activity both under and overactive, so controlling weight.
They contain folic acid (B 9) which means they are a great nerve tonic too.
Black Radish
Considered a medicine in wiser cultures, it is a good source of fibre, added to our juice, it will improve peristalsis, and helps to move digested food through the gastrointestinal system. Black Radish is also used in Chinese medicine for controlling and eliminating constipation and bowel disturbance so bringing balance back to the digestive organs.
Black radish is rather strong in flavour, we can use it in sauces or condiments and grated on salads as well as added to vegetable juices or smoothies. High in vitamin C and most of the vitamin B complex, as well as a high level of potassium, in addition to other minerals, including calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus. It also contains zinc and trace amounts of copper, manganese, and selenium. Powerful huh?

The long white root – milder in flavour. Daikon is a Japanese word, meaning large root, apparently brought to Japan from China, although Its origins are traced back to the Mediterranean region.
